After a 2 year love affair with my Super Duke it was time for a change. I will certainly miss her as hands down the best bike I have ever owned. I do think her replacement will provide plenty of smiles! So far I really love this thing. Just getting her broken in but definitely providing some outstanding fun already.

Take care all, and I will check in from time to time to see how you are all doing, I do still have the motard for my KTM fix

Yes do compare for use when you get a chance. I am going to hit the bike shop on lunch one day to see if they have a streetfighter and to see if they are doing demo rides.

nice looking bike that shade of red always reminds me of a hookers lipstick , if you paint it black it could be mistaken for a duke

yes indeed, interesting thread, fo me the pipe is not a problem seein how i have gone down more on the SD than any other prior..

this is my sticking point on exotics though, it is all about the "what if's" joe is also anxious to see a biased write up.

I know what you mean about "sterile". What is it about the latest Ducatis that feel that way compared to the communicative SD?

I'll wait for the naked RC8 (forget the name......).

Don't need more power than SD anyway, so I don't know why I want to try the RC8.........

Guess it's like he says, I enjoy trying different things. I should stop reading about anything else, the SD has satisfying type of power, more than enough for me, is comfortable, handles great.

Going to try the Ducati next week just for an excuse to take a nice ride to the dealer.

I'm waiting for my local Duke dealer to get one as a test bike then I can go and give it a back-to-back blat with the SD. But would be interested in any write-up in terms of day-to-day comparisons.
I have to admit though that I'm struggling with the looks of the Duke. From the front it looks like it's been flattened by something from above........but I haven't seen one in the flesh yet so who knows

Sorry all I have been working like crazy and have not had much ride time. I have the bike broken in now and just need to get a good ride in to give you all a fair comparison.


Truth is it's really a coin flip between the two they are close for different reasons. Streetfighter is faster, Super Duke more fun.... More details to follow

I guess next is the "The SF is just collecting dust and needs a new home" thread Congrats on the 08SDR, Im all worked up about one right now too. Mines in the mail and I cant wait. ssshhh dont jinkx it.
