Yes, with modern bikes I have just got to the age where black is OK and other gaudy colours are not.

But riding about on my older bikes is different.

Just had my old shell Premier helmet resprayed in truly tacky 1970's style. Gold metalflake with hand painted candy purple numbers and lettering. It's the kind of helmet I'd have wanted in 1979 when I started riding bikes. I know many will not like but...I love it!

I think its excellent. Looks great.

But then I would, back in the mid 70's I sprayed gold flames on my orange polycarb open face
