I love Harleys
Amen brother!
I'm with you brother. Although the guys around here are usually good about moving over, there are some who insist on holding you up just to be a-holes. If they are a real dick I just get right up on there ass then they usually scare themselves going to fast around a corner and finally move over.
Def with you on this guys. Just can't understand the appeal. Would rather have seen them go to the wall instead of Buell
yeah fook Harley
Dunno which one of you to quote cus u all right I would give up bikin if i had to ride a Hhh can't even say it, friend of mine bought one and kindly offered me the chance to have a spin! For some strange reason he got a bit shitty when i asked him why would i want to ride that piece if shite for
Must admit i would buy one though !!!!.....................................................................
By weighing it in with scrap metal being worth a fortune at the mo i'd be quids in

I wouldn't buy one myself, but I'd rather see a bloke on a Hardly than not on a bike at all.

If any bikes should be hated it's the piss poor rice burning copies .... I'm sure you've seen 'em. Why would anyone take a bike design that relies totally on its name (and marketing bods who have taken decades to conjure up a 'lifestyle' image) for sales then make a shite copy????

Hardly......... No!

That said I do feel sorry for the owners - all that chrome to polish, then put on their chaps, tasseled jacket (complete with back patch), pisspot helmet and then ride around with all your mates on their almost identical 'customised' machines at 30MPH

you cant ride one of those things, it would take to long to clean if you did.

If I was to take the slower road I'd be in my car.

Let me see if I can enlighten you guys. I have a 2008 Super Duke that I dearly love. I also have a 1982 GS1100EZ and a 2003 Harley Deuce that I am quite fond of. My wife rides a 2009 Ducati Monster. Some Harley riders are dicks. I stay away from them. Some sport bike riders are dicks. I stay away from them too. I have the Harley because some of my friends ride them. It is perfect for "Harley days". They are dinosaurs to be sure, but are fun when riding with your buddies. The Suzuki, which I have owned since day 1, is perfect for riding to vintage bike events. The KTM is perfect for all other days. If I had to choose 1 bike, it would be the KTM. Since I have been fortunate enough to have multiple bikes, why not have bikes for all reasons? I hope everyone, no matter what bike they choose has as much fun as I do.

I'm no stranger to great handling bikes, I started with a 77 Ducati 900 Supersport as my first vehicle in my name as a youngster and have owned many Ducatis, Laverdas, Aprilias since then, along with my SD's. But I still enjoyed the heck out of my Sporster built into a Street-tracker and my Street Rod. They only built the Street Rod for 2 years and if it weren't for the fact that it was apparently built with a complete disdain for trying to save weight (it's as if they made every component as heavy as possible) I would still have it. That thing flat out handled despite being over 125 pounds heavier than I would like. So not all Harleys are bad handling and some are nice all around bikes.

Now, as for the high percentage of "get a lifers", poseurs, fakers, wannabe "tough guys" who buy a Harley for image alone and put on an attitude, sure, they make me sick. But that does not make the entire line of bikes bad, and the company has tried, and indeed succeeded, in bringing quality a long way up.
Harley rider pre-ride check off list:
1. Comb baseball player goatee and mustache
2. Spend 6- hours polishing gaudy chrome pieces. Be sure people can read the Live to rideride to live statement on gas tank lid.
3. Assure suspension can handle at least 560 pounds of rider
4. Pack cell phone and have tow service numbers programmed.
5. Look in mirror and perfect the Im a bad ass motherfucker harley riding scowl.
6. Affix tassels from daughters bicycle to handle bars for added gay appearance.
7. Test flashers for when bike breaks down (99% probability)
8. Put on your wrist brace to help carpal tunnel from all of the unnecessary revving
9. Leather pants
10. Gloves
11. Wrap around sunglasses
12. Skull cap (German soldier type for the real badasses). Remember to think about the SAFETY aspect/argument of loud pipes as putting that potato chip on head. The real tough guys here will wear a bandana over their face (some with a skull) to look really scary----ooooh!
13. CAT work boots (new)
14. Leather vest with some chapter like: North chapter of pig fooking obese attention whore douche bags with fat ugly loud mouth wives.
15. HD t-shirt (of course). Because everyone needs to know what shop you paid $40 for a $5 hanes shirt at.
16. Remove baffles from pipes so EVERYONE can hear you going 18mph in 2nd gear at redline. Note: Most HD break down before hitting 2nd gear.
17. Starbucks gift card: This is usually your hangout--------------how tough.
18. Call friends with similar ridiculous motorcycle (WW2 outdated technology garbage) and pathetic store bought image (gay pirate from the Castro) attire. Have them ATTEMPT to meet you at the starbucks without breaking down or crashing due to being distracted from looking at themselves in their chrome.
19. Five packs of Marlboro reds to smoke while riding to look extra cool
20. Slam a 6 pack of Zima prior to ride.
21. Saddle bags attached to pick up and store broken parts that fall off bike as you ride/push (if you can call it riding without laughing) that hunk of shit down the road.
