I need to move move some bikes first to free up some $$$ but will be in the market sooner than later. Shoulda bought one when they first came out but the dealer was being a Dick and wouldnt budge a cent from MSRP. Now a few years later the SD still is one of the coolest machines on the road. I rejoined the forum (nice improvement BTW) to catch up on a few things.Early on the most common whinge was the fuel mapping.Instead of reading 10's of threads on the issue whats the deal Has it ever been resolved ? Is there a fix?
I'm gonna buy a Duke....eventually.

#2Dude - a lot of people have put lot of effort into this matter. There's no "pat" solution, but several approaches and fixes to the problem.
The least you could do is honor their efforts and take the time to read what they've done, particularly given that you don't have the bike yet.

#3No worries will do.I would have thought that there would been recall or response from the factory of some sort if there were so many with problems . I didnt know owners were still figuring it out on their own.

#4I'm not going to tell you to buy a super duke. But for me its the best bike I have owned.
Its not hard to fix with Tune ecu just have to know what you are doing. If you need help there are a number of Great blokes on here that can help.
It seems like all the blokes on here are great people.
But for me the first thing is get rid of those standard mufflers as they get really hot and don't let the engine breath how it should.
Then get Tuneecu cable and download a new map turn off the sas plus 02 sensors and take out flies and turn them off also with tuneecu.
Balance throttle bodies again using Tuneecu and to make life easier get MH air box.
You don't need to do all these mods if you don't want to you can still get the bike to go fine with standard equipment but you will need Tuneecu to turn the sas and 02 sensors off. Or you can just buy the resistors to eliminate the 02 sensors but your better off spending an extra $15 on the tune cable.
For me the less Super Duke's on the road the better as you don't come across many when out and about so its a bit like owning a one of and you get a lot of looks.
I know that Ducati have had a lot of fuelling probs also and it costs a whole lot more to get things right with them.
So good luck with you choice.

#5Cheers for that.I'm going to buy one anyway my minds made up.I have Ducatis too and going through the same thing with one of them.Glad to know the Duke is fine with standard equipment and if I find a well sorted one all the better.

#8HEY Livert that surging at 4000 is the 02 sensors, This is what I like about tuneecu you can turn the 02s off and the surging is gone.
Don't be worried about turning them off either as If you were to buy a power commander they recommend not to use the 02 sensors and come with the 02 eliminator resistors.

#9My bike is a stock 08 SD except the akro slipons, and I never had a problem with the fuelling.
