Well as per the title i thought to myself yesterday evening " you know what you haven't tried yet? crashing your superduke!" so off i went for an evening ride and crashed him...
Ok of course thats not really how it went but i did go for a ride in the evening and i did crash.
Going round a fairly slow right hander half of the road was covered in like a gritty gravel and the front just washed out and sent me down the road on a low side.
I've got R&G lowers, fork and swingarm protectors and puig uppers and I must say they and the superduke did a bloody fine job of crashing!
The lower R&G has very light scuffing, the puig was quite badly damaged scuff wise and it bent in half (although it looks like maybe its designed to do this! The bar end mirrors got a light scuffing as did my bar end and the very end of my hong kong lever got a little paint off the tip and finally the exhaust got a small ding in the side (this i'm most annoyed/upset about).
Everything else frame, tank, panels, engine completely unmarked and once ive replace the puig bung and either replaced the bar end mirror or touched it up i dont think you'd know any damage was done. (minus exhaust) but id call that a pretty "cheap" crash if ever there was one!
So i concur with everyone else...conclusion: the superduke does indeed crash well!
