So if it got stolen today I would get compensated for the price of a used '07 bike. But, like Ironlung and lots of you guys, I have done a load of mods. which I would not see any compensation for. I hardly dare tot them all up but if you list Motobox, carbon bits, brake levers, handlebars, rear sets, numberplate hangers, indicators, PC111, etc. we're talking about over £1000 to replace.
So my question is whether you can insure this lot without making the premiums so high that it's not worth doing? If I ring the insurance company to ask then I may start a ball rolling, (that I can't stop), because I'm admitting that the bike has more stuff on it that makes it more likely to be stolen. But if I don't tell them and it gets stolen maybe they would not pay out because I've not told them it was blinged.
What's the forum wisdom on this?
