Geez..
I've noticed lately that some guys come on
this forum wanting to sell bits n pieces...which is all fine
and dandy..but..a few items I've been interested in...The seller
has 4 posts or less...Now..is it just me..?? Or do
you trust the dude won't rip you off and never get the item of
wanting.??? Is it just me.??? I AM NOT a very trusting man.. But
that's just me...Any opinions out there.???
(Dumb question lol)
This isn't an opinionated forum..is it.???
Yes your not the first to notice a new trend or at least anomily

You have every right not to trust someone who isn't a regular visitor of this sight, I wouldn't. If you do buy something use a service like paypal that way your have some assurances you will get your item. I purchased a couple items from a regular user and had no issues. We used paypal.

Awww man...you took my glory...
lol
i just got a full set of r&g upper and lower from a new member no probs...trust or faith is needed or you'll go through life being a bitter person
Not just on this forum but others too, I've bought and sold and only ever had one problem (which should be sorted soon )

If someone only has a few posts might be worth your time to look at the other posts, are they just getting there post count up or do they have something to add, also how long have they been a member? plenty of guys come on here but don't have much to say !
Probably a little (or lot) of both omky756!!!

I'm one of those new members that you are referring to and can honestly say that I'm not out to rip anyone off. I have been a member on KTMtalk since 2003 while I was riding a 300exc - just tooling around and looking for way to pass the time in central BC when the winters were -30C. I found that I spent a little too much time on that site and really only had minimal info to share - the 300exc was bomb proof. Since then I have moved on to home ownership and family life and I really don't have the time to be on sites anymore - heck, I rarely have time for riding! During my ownership of two superdukes I have been a regular visitor to this site, I just didn't have any problems to post about that required asking so I guess I am in the naughty group and guilty as charged

I am only trying to offload some parts that I had purchased with the intent of trying to help someone out. I have no issues, I may put the parts on ebay (have never done that before ) and may just throw them in the trash if there is no interest?

As indy84 states "trust or faith is needed or you'll go through life being a bitter person". As a for instance, I just sold my paddock stands and a barely used rear 2CT to a guy that didn't bring enough cash at time of sale. I asked him to drop the remainder back when he had chance because I had a good feeling about the guy, loaded up the stuff in his truck and away he drove. Before he left he said that I gave him a really good deal on the stuff, we shook hands and he said that he would drop back later to settle up. He stopped back in an hour and we ended up talking tyres and common riding areas and he was fascinated with my new FS570 in the garage.

TBH, I don't really care if my stuff ever sells, but if it does someone is going to get great service and a great deal - that I can promise!

Hey, I got another post, can I be trusted a little more now? I really don't want to have to resort to the +1, +2 thing

I just couldn't resist and will go back to my lurking ways!!!

I got royally humped by a guy on here from San Francisco. It has put me off a bit I must admit.

I'm kinda interested in the reverse shift listed on here but (nothing intended against the guy) that bad deal before has put me off buying.
Mike , It is true you need to not go in blind.I think most people are honest.
In this forum it won't take long to get a bad rep and then no one will buy anything from you.

When I had my ape I sold a bunch of Leo Vince Decat systems for the DD. They would have to send me the check. When it cleared I had my friend at a dealer ship to their door.he billed me I paid him I made a few bucks the buyer saved a bunch and the dealer sold a product for a bike he would never sell. Good for everyone That took some trust for them to send me a couple of hundred dollars and then they got their stuff.but I sent everyone their stuff and now I have a great rep on that site for getting them stuff at great prices..Now you got me Just ask I tell you if it's a good deal.Like the tyre price If you could get those dunlap shipped to your door for that price you should. my price was without tax or shipping which was not going to be charged.and it was still a little cheaper. So I said get them. For some reason dunlap prices go up and down week to week Have no clue why.

But like some said if you buy on line paypal is great you have some measure of protection.I hope we don't get spammers here I think the power to be do a great job to keep the riff raff out.I have a bunch of duke stuff and RC8 stuff I really need to post just to lazy.I have tank bags mirrors pegs etc one of these days i will get off my ass and try to sell them.

I do a bunch of business on e bay so far it has always been good .Plus I buy stuff from China with them it's paypal or no deal.
Trusting is hard if you have been burned. but you need to have blind faith not everyone is bad.I believe this family we have are good people.
You will see that on track day in april.Even the SDnerd I got him to smile on the go pro. That was priceless.
We have some really good guy here both here and across the pond I found a brother from a differant mother. He is one of the main reasons I
am on here and have a duke.To think I almost went with the 1200 DD.Glad all the dealers went out of business or I might have one of thos heavy pigs They are fun and fast but no duke thats for sure.

I hope to see you in april just have fun and know you have plenty of brothers that will be there helping you if you need it.
I know I will stumbling around on the RC8.I just have to track it once just to see.I know right now I am faster on the duke but we will see how long it takes me to get the hang of this bad mo fo I got it screaming now can't wait to let her rip.
C-Ya my friend
Vic
I have been visiting and joined since 2005 when I was considering a superduke, bought my first in 07 joined then. I hate to say but I have bought off long term high ish posters and got a right spanking.

I had a DNA filter posted in a single sheet of bubble wrap, NO BOX to protect it put in a Chinese version of a jiffy bag.....needless to say it arrived with damage to the mesh screen, seller went quiet and offered no refund

I had a carbon pan from here described as very good....5H1TE... I would not have sold that to any of my friends with that description or £...and again NOT newbies so you think you can trust!!!! Not so.

All I am saying the newbie logic don't do it for me....

While we are on the subject people seem to start using the site as a secondary selling catchment, if you are genuinely helping this forum community WHY do people just post....item on eBay no xxxxxxx

It's like saying I'm not going to offer it to the community I just want you all to fight over it ang get more money!!!!

Maybe it's me ....I don't post a lot ...I love the very knoledgeble members and the people who share mechanical electrical and software experiences for the better good of all on the site.

Just beware one mans excellent like cars is usually my version of poor...standards are subjective..like morals.
