Side by side test..
On open roads the throttle doesn't bother me. riding around town at constant low speed on and off the throttle is a bit annoying.

Acra slip ons and the acra map helped a lot. I have also tried to run with a PCIII but found it to cause me problems when riding up in the mountains.

I also have a RSV Factory of the same generation as your Tuono. The KTM engine is more linear and I feel more "connected" to the KTM when I ride it compared with the Aprilia.

I have put on over 10 000km's on my 09 SDR since I bought it about three months ago.

I don't think you would regret swapping the Tuono for a KTM
i'm from the northshore, could possibly be persuaded to let you pilot for a ride. i commute daily on it, took some getting used to but for a blat up the old road its pure heaven. why not take a ducati streetfighter for a testride?

Hi Rex Good shoice on the SDR.I reckon you should give Sutto's at Penrith a call before you buy anything interstate, they are my local dealer and live and breathe KTM, they are a good bunch of guys and are a 50 minute drive from you. From personal experience I would give Procycle a big miss ( but thats another story). As for the mods Power Commander , Akropovic Evolution slip ons, then get the guys at S and R Pro to dyno it (about $350.00), they know there stuff and got my SuperDuke cracking and smooth.I have an 07 Superduke with the above mods no snatch ,smooth engine and lots of go. I ride the usual racer roads, Old Road, Wisemans, National Park , Macquarie Pass and Putty.I have owned GSXR ,YZF, Husky Motards nd Ducatis and rate the Superduke above all of them for these types of roads. I can't fault the bike after 16000ks and 2 years ( I don't commute on it) and the SDR is possibly better again all bar the comfort level. As for suspension there is plenty of adjustment for a good set-up and KTM own White Power so it is well sorted for the bike.
Regards Ronnie

At around 2000 miles it stalled on me a couple of times and had some weird hunting issues on a constant throttle, lasted maybe the next 500 miles. Sorted itself out

Now around 9000 miles and have added a few bits pc,cans etc. but only because I like buying her pressies

I can honestly say I love the bike more every time I ride it.
