It felt holliganish

I bought a Honda Nighthawk recently. An 82 that had not been loved since the first Bush raised my taxes.
I mostly threw my elbows at it and the money was next to nothing.
I payed 250 bucks and got the thing prettied up enough to bring a smile to most who find the two wheel variety attractive. I took it to the Department of Motor Vehicles and the determined that they could rob me out of 675 bucks. They were wrong. The fees will be closer to thirtyeight dollars if I park the bike for two years and start a fresh then. I rode the bike to work today and I feel like a dumb kid trying to get away with riding my motorbike on the street and avoiding getting caught.
If I do get nailed, I will not be able to declare non operation on a public hiway and could have the bike impounded.
at that point in time i would be just as well off to leave in impounded.
Did I ever tell you about the bike I bought from an impound yard.

Sounds like a cool deal for $250. But I don't understand why DMV would want to charge you $675 to register it, unless the previous owner owed that much to them for back fees? When I've bought bikes for a bit more than that, the DMV fees were a fraction of what they're wanting from you. Be careful, I wouldn't want even a cheap vehicle to be impounded.

The answer is cause they are in the bussiness of generating income and They think that back registration for a vehicle rescued from the weeds on the dpside of a barn is not enough income if they can add some freakin rediculous " penalty fees" on to of " double penalty fees" on top of prccesing of paperwork for fees upon well You get the drift. As municipalities figure out ways to fee you to death faster than the guvment can tax you to death you simply need stay away.
The funny thing is I could sign a document that states that I know it was on the side of a barn and most all fees disapear. That would be lyeing so I have to stick it on the side of my preverbial barn for two years, what a joke.
Make it two hundred and were both happy, but nooooooooo!!!!!
