It's not over.. Another (new?) Electrical problem

So I had just posted about my gauges, and thought I had that fixed pretty well by cleaning the connection out.

Today I go to turn the bike on for a nice ride to lunch... gauges won't turn on and I hear a buzzing electrical noise coming from under the seat.

I located the exact culprit... it was a black (resistor?) on the far right directly underneath the seat.. What is this, what is happening?...

I am having my mechanic pick it up in a few minutes as it is immobile.
