Hello: Has anyone mounted the kaoko cruise control on their SD. Will it interfere with bar end mirrors or hand guards etc. Does it really work without slipping. Any reviews my fellow riders.

On longer trips of freeway droning, I use a throttle rocker. It does not let you go right hand free, but eliminates the grip portion of throttling.

#11The difference of opinion here is geographic.
To a UK rider the very idea of cruise control is insane and unnecessary. But I guess if you're on a stretch of tarmac that is 100 miles long without a bend or incline then your right wrist might get a bit bored.
But then I'd rather be in a Pontiac Firebird with a big spliff and some loud music!

#12Yes I want to lock the throttle in the open position and not slow down. I need a quality cruise control to go to a motorcycle rally... So a car will not work hehehe..

#13I have a cruise control device fitted on my 08 Duke. LOVE IT! Thru-way trips are SO much easier on my wrists with it. And I can accelerate/decelerate with it on very easily. There is a set screw to adjust the clamping pressure. you set it just tight enough to hold the throttle wherever you want, so you can still make adjustments with it on. I think I paid $9.99 through Dennis Kirk.

#18I have one on my SDR. It work great. I use it because my wrist tends to get real sore at the end of a long day ride. arthritis I think.
I live here in Norther California. And while there are lots of good twisty road around my area. There are also good roads out of my area that require me to hit the Freeway for several miles. This is where the Kaoko throttle lock come in.
The Kaoko throttle lock is fully adjustable. You can set it so that when it is fully locked. it can easily be turned off. What I mean is there is just a enough pressure holding the throttle open with out the throttle spring returning the throttle to the off position. And if you like to life dangerous you can adjust it tighter.
I believe there is two version. One for Hand guards and one with out. I have the one with out.
It's a good product that's well made. But not cheap.

#22ya i got 1 too. helps on boring stretches of freeway where fine throttle control is less than necessary (at least here in CA). also found that it helped my city riding a bit too just to add some light friction, slowed down my inputs especially over potholes/torn up pavement. Installed in like 5 minutes, you can also just loosen it all the way to "disable" it....the only downside is that (if loosened to the max) the friction washer tends to fall out of alignment and needs 2 hands to reset...clear as mud?
