just bought the KTM 1290 superduke here in Denmark.

I really want the akrapovic race kit installed, but my dealer now says that KTM might void the warranty on the bike if the race kit (original from KTM) is installed ?

He will get back to me this week.

Have any of you guys considered this or can verify this bullshit by KTM ?

Peter
No and it shouldn't, it is genuine KTM parts delivered by a KTM dealer.
Don't know what the consumer laws are like in your country but I'd say they can't make that stick and your dealer is full of shit.
It's nothing about the laws here in Denmark.

KTM told my dealer that warranty will be void if a racekit is installed.

I know MANY motorcycle companies make racekits for their bike, and i have NEVER heard of them losing warranty.

I just wanted you guys to know, and hopefully check with your dealer, so that we can get KTM to disclaim this bullshit before someone is refused warranty on their new bike.

I'm having a real hard time finding out who the importer is here in Denmark, anyone can give me some help

By the way how much did you pay for your 1290 ?

I paid 51000 US$
My dealer in the UK specifically said that the Akra slip on and race systems are the only exhausts which will NOT void the warranty.

You're lucky Obama can only serve 8 years, he won't have quite enough time to "fundamentally transform America" into Denmark.
They do have a sexy Aussie Princess, tho
