I suffered the misfortune of breaking down on the way to the gym (and then work) this morning. I'd told the mechanic, at service time, that I thought the charging system or the battery was knackered. Now I've proved it.
Anyway, after pushing the bike a mile or so to the gym (they serve coffee and bacon sarnies there, why else!) I called the KTM breakdown service people.
Other than the usual stupid questions (is it manual or automatic? Doh!) a man with a very well equipped van showed up. He listen for 20-seconds to my story of where the battery was located and how easy it was to get at, before he started to load the bike into the van.
Anyway, long story short, I was very impressed by the entire episode (other than breaking down) and that all of the service was geared towards bikes. In the UK at least, if you sign up with the AA or whatever it takes two recovery vehicles and 3hours of waiting in the rain before someone turns up who can transport a bike anywhere.
Good on ya KTM. I just hope it now gets fixed properly!!
