KTM immob/alarm... How does it work?

I have the KTM alarm fitted to my SDR, but no manual...

It seems to set itself after about 30secs, with a single beep/flash... and from there acts as an immobilser only (?). i.e I can push the bike around and move it, and can;t make the alarm go off with any movement. is this right?

The actual alarm only sounds if I try to turn the ignition on.

If I click the infrared key twice I get 2 beeps/flashes from the bike. What does thsi mean? have I turned it on or off, or does this make the alarm work in a different way?

Can anyone who has one enlighten me as to how it should function.

reading the workshop manual it seems the ktm alarm is just a meta alarm with a different fob.

If it is a meta, then on my last bike it worked like this:

If you leave it, 30 secs later it'll immobilise only on its own.

To set the alarm function you have to press the one button and it'll beep twice.

To disarm it press it again and it'll beep once.

The other button sets it off in a panic mode.

Does this sound right?

I just bought an alarm for my 06, but I don't know what to do with the big black box with 2 wires in it.. The alarm is coming from an SD-R (don't know the manufacturing date)..

Any ideas? It is a sidestand removal plug, or what?
And how to install the seat-watcher thingy? (a pic with an installed one would be appreciated)
