I want to start seeing some tantalising leaks from KTM please. Slightly blurred pics of a mysterious bike in no livery on a track. Stories leaking of how the 1290 will be lighter than the LC8. Come on KTM I'm ready to be teased!!
The various models from the infamous "leaked" dealer meeting slide do seem to be coming to fruition. Maybe we will actually see a 1300cc SD for 2013. God that's a big motor for a street going sport bike! Should be fun.
What's the bike in the background ?

TBH the "new" SDR I think will be a dissapointment to most who remember the old model and what they were,,,,making the old model more desirable IMO,,mine ain't going anywhere the new doesn't interest me at all,,,now the moto 3 rep on the other hand, I'm sure will remind me of a 350 Duc , with a fine handling , more up to date, suspension,,brakes,, everything can't wait to squeeze the cheese out of that thing on the roads around me ,,,my next KTM fer sur only hope it's an early release model,,,,,,,

Be very interesting to see what the off roading community make of the 1290 Adv. The 2 owners I know can't quite understand it, neither says they need more grunt and one is a 950 owner. Maybe they are hoping to tap more into the GS owner that never sees a bit of mud. They will need to style it more to that market if so. 130bhp would be probably ott off road but nice for big mile eating cruising. Other thing is it can't be having a RC8 size rad so maybe the extra displacement was required to gain the power without generating too much heat?
I think the Indian influence may have more and more to do with the direction KTMs new models take, Bajaj are busy buying up KTM shares I think they are now close to a 49% shareholding

The 2013 SD is also going into the Indian market in 2014, so its a sure bet the Indians had design input on the new SD,

IMO the Austrian hooligan SD is dead, the future models will be more about market share and profit

The Indians just love Harleys, even indian women are buying them

The bike in the picture [Top] is the Moto 3 Bike...

The leaked pictures of the new adventure has the same motor as the RC8. Maybe de-tuned and increased CC's? But the cases are the same.

RC8 Motor is lighter than the 999 cc LC8 motor if you consider it needs an external oil tank, but the RC8 motor has a dry sump tank included in the crank-case so combined weight is less for the RC.
Was down at the stealers (P&H Crawley) last weekend and noticed that there were no new SD990's, RC8's or SDR990's on display. Is this in preparation for the new range of models?
