KTM WTF?!?!?

It seems there are quite a few people here whose experiences with the mighty SD/SDR have been varied, to say the least. I am kind of surprised. Are these fellas beating the living snot out of their bikes on a daily basis? I have nearly 7000 trouble free miles on my 07 SD. It has been a flawless back road weapon, and I have NEVER enjoyed EVERY little ride on any other bike anywhere NEAR as much as this.
I can't believe that KTM's production tolerances are this variable. I can only hope that in the near future, KTM's commitment to 2 wheeled nirvana becomes the benchmark for quality products with excellent, reliable engineering.

10,000 (I've had it for 9000 of them in under a year) miles and no problems other than the one the previous owner created when he did a shotty job of installing a PCIII (fuse shorting because of wires touching).

I can say that my bike has been pretty damm good to me. The only thing I would tell KTM is never make a gas tank like that again (God damm head bolt).

10,000 Miles and all I've had to do is change the waterpump shaft seal but only 4000 miles of those are mine so no idea if it had any issues before that.
12,000 miles, regulator left me stranded. That is it!

Just got round to having the service (£230 ), anyhow Jerry at JimAims said it's one of the best fuelling SDs he's tried.

Was thinking of selling as hadn't rode it for a few months as have been blasting around on the banzai Husky. Now after riding to the dealers I've realised I would be a cnut to sell.

Remember this is a forum, a lot less likely to start a thread with "damn these SDs fuking rock" rather than the one time in thousands when it lets us down and we slate her.

I sold my Superduke for the RC8 with 45.000km in three years!
I never had it to the dealer for repairs nor services.

The only servicing done, was oil changes by me every 7-8.000km!
Best bike ever...(I still say that!)
Still newish to the SD experience having only put just over 1,000 miles on my 08 model (59 reg) SD.

Only issue so far was the bike having the wrong dics fitted at the factory

Since having it's first running in service done 2 track days plus a day at Santa Pod without any issues. Cannot wait for Rockingham on Sunday
06SD, 2nd hand.

bike sat around for a long while and voltage reg was cactus when i got it.

Replaced and have put 7500Km on myself to 13500 Km total and not a single other problem than the Voltage regulator.

Never had more fun on a bike. The only problem is that dealers have been a pain as their big business is dirt, and not the LC8.
