Hi KTM,

IIRC A while ago you asked about the carbon tank on a 05 bike, or was it about the tank bag strap, whatever.....

Hi Lee,

Thank you very much! Exactly what I hoped to see. This clarifies a lot of confusion for me. The paintjob of the 05 carbon tank you have is different than on the 06 tank. I'm happy to see that the 05 tank is all painted with only the middle section showing the carbon as I think this looks best.

Your tank is just as it came out of the box right? But... it looks like the black paint is different (more glossy) than the mat paint on the side panels, middle section of the headlight fairing and front fender?...

If you are interested Dazza I know of a guy who made a mould for a limited run of larger tanks for the SD. Don't know much more than that but happy to make enquiries through my contact...

I popped in to see him today and missed him - he has just had his foot pinned after a spill at the Paeroa St races so might not be at work tomorrow - I will let you know what I find out...
