Okay, I've had my 2008 SD for over a year and a half and I really must apologize for not being more active in the forum. I've put 5,000+ miles on it, but have never really done too much as far as "performance" mod's. The little things I've done are the niggling bits of detail that usually bug the sh*t out of me like...
Lithium Battery (Ballistic 12 cell - AWESOME!)
Hyper-Pro Steering damper (yes, I had to machine all my own bits. But, it was well worth it)
Taller windscreen (KTM issue)
Sprockets & X-Ring Gold Chain upgrade (Regina, SuperSprox)
Flat Handlebar (RSI aluminium)
CRG Levers (Duh!)
SAS Block-offs (Moto Hooligan)
Mini mirrors (custom fabbed)
Fabricated a low-mount single exhaust (my favorite mod thus far )
Renthal grips, barend plugs, axle sliders, spools, moving the pegs up & back, leather seat cover, ditched the pillion pegs (plus some bodywork along with it), fork bleeders, yada, yada, yada...
But, I had also bought a PCV and Autotune over a year ago and never got around to installing it because I was honestly so pleased with how well the bike worked that didn't want to mess with it. Now, I'm getting the bug to do some sort of an intake (air filter box) and I thought it might be time to apply my purchase... (grin!) I put it on today, and it's a seriously worthwhile mod! Throttle smoother, bike pulls stronger, idle is perfect, (no fuel mileage info as yet, because not enough miles to report accurate info).
So, the first thing I do after that is order myself a pair of RC8 trumpets, a bit of aluminium sheet stock and go about researching filter elements to fab up my own air-box
