Leaky Leak again :((

been using the Superduke for commuting to work for the past two weeks since its been serviced & push rod thingie repaired
and ive been loving it
But today i left work and thought i saw oil on the parking space floor got home and its definatly leaking again seems to be a different place now though

its towards the front of the bike just past the side stand its dropping down onto the manifolds and leaving a quite substantial pool of rather clean oil not
sure whats going on but could it be the other end of the push rod ? maybe they broke it while doing the 1st bit either way im gutted cant afford another
big repair bill

have you done a breather system?

if you have the filter can get full of oil if there is no sepperator in line

I thought that after getting it sorted earlier everything would be fine now
im thinking that this might be clutch oil leaking this time but its only a hunch and im no expert

Sounds like the shift shaft or counter shaft seal is leaking. If they fixed it make them fix it again becuase they did a shit job.

Exactly. And if they won't take care of you...well, that;s just stoopid on their part. Your word of mounth is way more powerful than any amount of advertising dollars they car to bandie about.

Just had a look this morning and to be honest it seems to be leaking from near enough the same place as before so im guessing the push rod seal has gone again
heres a couple of pics

If it's engine oil, and not clutch oil leaking from the slave cylinder, it's likely to be either the gear sensor switch seal or the clutch push rod seal - if you choose not to go back to your dealer and want to do it yourself in a hurry, I have a spare clutch seal and I'm in the Tonbridge area but ride into London every day.

Had you moved the bike in the 1st pic? or is that exactly where the oil has landed?

If its leaking that much and coming from the slave cylinder it won't take long before you notice the reservoir is empty.
clean it all off and run the bike at a standstill might be an idea

Did they use the right kind of fluid (mineral oil) when replacing the clutch cylinder or did they ruin the seals by using brake fluid? In case it's the last option they'll have to replace all seals in the master cylinder as well because that will leak as well (matter of time).

Just thought id give you all a little update & perhaps a laugh

Finally got my Super Duke back today and fingers crossed its been fixed of all leaks

It seems the Oil pressure switch was to blame & not the push rod seal both have now been replaced anyway

Ohh does anyone know if these switches are insulated to keep out water etc the reason i ask is after half a mile the oil light came on after id picked it up so i wizzed it back not being too impressed &
they explained the bike had been jet wasked and it was water in the switch not had this problem before ??
Anyhow they dried it out however just as i was pulling in at home the oil light came on again will a bit of black tape sort this or is it more sinister ??? touch wood theres no oil on the garage floor in the morning

Ive had about enough of this bike now took it to work today 40 mile round trip oil light flickers then stays on constantly & if that's not bad enough it's leaking oil all over my drive again

So now it's even worse than when I took it to be looked at & this is after the push rod seal & the oil pressure switch have both been replaced

Not going to chance riding it so it's going to be recovered tomorrow so much for a summer of enjoying the bike

Had to give them an oppertunity to put it right especially as
It wasn't particularly cheap in the first place
Ok they havnt but it dosnt exactly put me in an easy position I
Can't afford to write off what work they have done at the moment
So yep I'm a sucker but they have another opportunity to put it right

The oil light issue is probably the very common SDR problem re the wiring/coolant pipe - do a search on here.
