Now let me clarify, i'm not a 'girly man' who can't hack the heat, i've lived here all my life, and i'm used to it. [besides, how good do the SD tyres stick when it's 35C!!! ] just don't want to buy a jacket that is better suited to a rider living in Alaska!
I've looked at Dainese and Alpinestars, there's one AS jacket i would consider.
It almost seems like you guys are wanting to tell me Joe Rocket Leather Jacket should be avoided?

#5i'm not saying you're a girly man, i know how hot and humid it can get on a bike with the gear on so i know how tempting it is to leave it off, my point is if you're going to be uncomfortable for the sake of safety, don't buy something that looks great but doesn't offer the protection you're after. And yeah i know what you're saying, i had a crowtree suit i bought and it was a serious bit of kit but made for road racers who want to crash in it more than once, very heavy thick top grain hide, and being made in england was stupid hot! great quality, but not appropriate for use here.

#6I would just be looking at the perforations and venting.
You would be surprised how efficient they can be at cooling if well placed. I usually try and get perf in the arms and across the upper chest. Simple tricks can help get air flowing as well such as unzipping the cuff of the sleeve, lets a great amount of air in.
I am really not a fan of mesh jackets, as you dehydrate quicker in them than leather.
I have not heard any bad reports about Joe Rocket stuff, but I have not heard any good reports either, take from that what you will.

#7I picked up one of these Teknic perf leather jackets on special from these guy's , and man does it pass some air nice ,, I was just looking for a good deal , the special was 140 usd, for a red one though,, but a very good deal ,, for cooler days we have a AS Halo , which again was a e-bay "good deal" buy at 179 usd,,,
