Lightweight batteries

I was at the Moto show this weekend and there was a vendor promoting his batteries.
They come in two physical sizes and were amazingly light.
The stock battery for the SD is a Yuasa YTZ14S and weighs 3.9 kilos
the same 14 AH Li-Fe (not Ion) weighs an astounding 830 grams!!
For the race bikes we moved the battery to the tail and dropped down to a YTZ7S which weighs 2.1 kilos.
The Li-Fe weighs 560 grams!!!
This is huge when it comes to weight up that high. (Think about how much we spent to lose the catalytic converter!)
Seems promising.
The cost is about the same as the Yuasa.
Tell them you heard it here and maybe we will get a deal?

Been a few threads about this subject but this is the first ine with a link you can go and buy the batteries from. Top marks Dr Swade.

Almost want my battery to die now so I have an excuse to buy one. only downside being I struggle to keep the front wheel on the floor as it is, removing that weight from the front will make it nigh on impossible.

i had my battery from racing batteries... 5 days to get it in Italy, works perfectly but i'm thinking to put a switch to turn off the lights when switching on (in Italy the lights are always on on two wheels veichles). It weighs 2,8 kg less than the OE Yuasa...

they are made entirely in USA, have good reputation, and are not too expensive - about tha same as stock one. i just ordered a 12 cell - 8 cell is what they recommend for 600-1000cc, but i'd rather have too much then not enough... not here yet, so can't comment on quality/strting etc.
