Any ideas why I would feel a loss of power after installing a BMC filter? No other changes were made at the time. I idled it for 15 min after the change. I also have the akra map and Leos w/ no baffles. No other mods.

#3Yeah, the BMC air filter. It has a higher flow rate which seems to me it should have actually helped performance.

#4I aint no rocket scientist but your bike was mapped for the standard filter and leo pipes?? By puttin a filter on which gives the motor more air it'll run leaner so will fook up the mapping set up cus that will automatically put the right fuel and air mix in for the akra remap. I would suggest a dyno set up for the filter. May be speakin a load of bol*ox but that's wat i think!!
Hope it helps

#7When I got Akra TI's and put them on myself I then got KTM to load the Akra map, removed the baffles and added a BMC filter also.
Been running without an issue, I have also done the O2 sensor mod and takent he triangles outta the airbox, there is now even more power..!! Motobox would be the next step, but then I would also need to dyno tune it which would add a PCIII or tuneboy expense to the list.
Maybe ask the KTM stealer to re-load the Akra map. Dunno how you lost power from adding a better air filter....

#10adding a bmc or k+n filter should'nt alter the fueling that much to affect performance, they can lean the bike by a tiny margin and the ecu can compensate if you are still running the lambda sensor..???? even with different cans and map it should'nt effect performance, most of the bike's i've had have all been fitted with bmc or k+n filters and caused no power loss at all..???? im not hundred percent up on the duke at the moment but i would be looking for a breather pipe that has came loose on the air box area first after changing the filter to be on the safe side......
