Lost front - VERY close call

Going down hill into a sharpish corner maybe 80kph and the front wheel started to slide. Somehow didn't crash but almost shat my pants

Very difficult to get rid of the chicken stripes on the Dunlop SportSmart front tyre on the road, after maybe 1500km it's was still 10mm (nothing rear). But the slide wore the tyre all the way to the edge, see pic.

Seems to be a SD thing. You can ride way off the edge of the rear tyre and still be nowhere near the edge of the front. Not sure if its function of the geometry, you reach the edge of the rear before the front on every bike but on the SD with my Perelli tyres the bike would be horizontal and I would be laying in the road before the edge of the front tyre got scuffed. Looks like the chicken strips are here to stay, at least untill I try the M5's somebody suggested resolve the issue.

They had super motard practice at the local gocart track this evening...so did a few laps just to reduce the chicken strips a bit

I have slid the front for what seemed like a meter and the bike just grabbed and carried on. That was at about 110 mph!
Last Thursday I slid my front under trail braking going into turn 11 at Infineon, which is a hair-pin turn and the bike once again just railed on through.
Still scared the shit outta me!
Nichols triple clamp makes the bike more stable.
In any case, Glad you didn't crash.
