Same thing happened to me just before my first service at 600 miles. I went to downshift to make a turn about a mile from home and nothing...I looked down to see the shift linkage completely missing. I was able to limp it home in 3rd and then came back in the car to retrace my path in hopes of locating it. No luck. I called my dealer and they were cool enough to pull one off their last SD on the floor so I lucked out. Would of had to wait a week or two if they hadn't done that. Suffice to say, it's locked down TIGHT now...that was a pretty helpless feeling that I'd just as soon not have to experience again... Everyone should go check their linkage and apply some lock-tite for insurance.

Same here. Dealer gave me a new one and i applied lots of lock-tight. The original hiem joints didn't even show contact marks from the locking nuts.
