Still getting to know my SD, but enjoying the relationship
Just for grins, I played with the full extent of the gear lever travel today and was surprised to find the bike actually has six gears! Not sure I'll ever use the top three while commuting
I don't want to give anyone the impression I'm a real hooligan, because I'm not. I just love yanking the throttle open when it is possible to do so. And sometimes the front gets light and twitchy
But I am a bit surprised a 999cc engine can't make much use of at least fourth and fifth gears below around 4000rpm.
I'll persist for a while but am considering a gearing change to 17/41. Will I need a longer chain at the same time? Currently the bike is at 17/38.
