On my way to work this morning and I'm almost there, it's a 30 min commute. It starts raining halfway. I'm in one lane and going about 55 or so. Some guy on the freeway offramp decides to turn right on the red. I decided not to slow down behind him so I made a quick lane change.... Wasn't the best idea, the front tyre just washed out on me. Me and the bike slid for about 100 yards even through an intersection. Luckily there was no cross traffic. I broke my phone and iPod in my pocket. The tail plastic got broken and needs to be replace. I need new sliders and a new shifter..... Other than that not too bad
Lowsided this morning...

#2Ahhhhhhh Bassagent.......When you come to NY I am going to smack you, and take your R for a spin.
It's a shame when you have to learn lessons the hard way, but broken electronics, a shifter and plastic is an easy price to pay if you were not injured.
I'm curious what tyres you are using ?

#5I've learned how to crash/slide since ive crashed 5 times total now, so I think that has to do with the little damage I took

#10"I changed lanes, I crashed"
Really? Can't you come up with something better? Like, "I was riding a wheelie on my way to work and a hot chick pulled out to drive next to me, I looked over at her, she flashed me, and I crashed so I could get her number."

#13Hey Bassagent brand-new tyres have leftover compounds from the factory which means they can slip easily.
Brand-new tyres have to be scuffed in slowly on a dry road or you can take a high grit # sandpaper and lightly rub the sidewall to remove the residue. You may think that this is BS but i kid you not it is important.
And you cheap skate.. Put a matching set of tyres on the beast . Now 2 smacks are coming.

#14sounds like ur personally as resilient to crashes as SD's can be! Glad you are ok. Fresh rain/new tyre/quick moves sounds scary. In retrospect, is there anything on the ride u could have done differently in your decision making to prevent the fall?
