Well written, Weeksy, although I expect a standard corporate response "we don't attend local riders' club gatherings" or something to that effect.

Hell yes, Ginger's dealer should've said "yes, thank you, we'll fix it & notify KTM straight away, and get your SD back to you in a fortnight".
Cheers to KTM for telling you 1) they really don't want to talk to the consumer directly - that IS what the dealers are for; and 2) shame on the dealer for pointing the finger back at the factory - the customer is ALWAYS right (if they've already spent the mula), and KTM should be aware that your "dealer" is bad mouthing their own products!!!!

If I have an issue with my 330's clutch, I don't want to talk to Hans in Munich about it, I want to talk to Homer the service manager @ my local dealer. If he doesn't help me, then I talk to the general manager about it, and get some results. If HE passes the buck, then I go upstairs to someone in corporate who really doesn't want to talk to the consumer, thereby creating a log-roll of shit (and we all know shit rolls down hill). Follow the proper channels, and not only do you get satisfaction, but it usually clears out the weak link in the chain and helps the next guy in line.
