#3Yeah that makes sense. Thanks for the info. I just don't want to have to take the bike to the dealership and charge me 100 for 10 minutes of work resetting my ECU back to stock.

#4Again, having said all the above, you can run your bike with pipes and Motobox on stock ECU map. I know because I'm doing it and the bike runs really good. Not lean at all except maybe a smidge on top. Make sure you install some O2 sensor eliminators to run open loop though. That way the ECU won't try and lean out your F/A mixture while running closed loop.
If you've got the Akra map loaded I'd just install the box (and O2 eliminators) and ride it. You're not going to hurt it. By most (if not all) accounts the Akra map is rich...really rich. If you do end up having fueling issues you can get the PCIII and remap at that point. Worth a try and will save you a crap-load of money.
I think you'll be really happy without the PCIII. Give it a shot.

#5Thanks John. I'm currently running the motobox on my bike with Leo Vince exhaust and the akra map. Also, I have the SAS removed, Blanking plates and o2 sensor eliminators installed. The bike runs amazing, so I'm alittle hesitant to add a PC3. I ran the bike for a week or so after the Motobox without the akra map installed and It did run great. I know the PC3 and a custom map will be the ideal situation but I don't know how much better the bike can run. I believe the bike is still running rich because I wreek of exhaust after a short ride. Something I've never experienced with any other bike I've owned. This whole idea of me getting a PC3 was inspired by the modified butterflies that Aaron has made. What do you think?

#6I've not removed my flies yet but am considering Moto's. Don't think re-mapping will be necessary.
So you still smell of fuel with Motobox installed while running Akra map. Just goes to show you how rich that map is, ie, way too rich. You shouldn't be smelling of fuel if A/F is around the 13/14:1 ratio. Sounds like that Akra map is putting you somewhere around the 11/12:1 F/A ratio. Too rich!
I'd set up a dyno day and have the A/F checked out as is with Akra map. If my prediction is correct load the standard map and try again. Keep in mind that the A/F is going to jump around a bit due to the stock mapping and that is precisely what the PCIII is for, to flatten it out at 13:1 across the board so in theory, should run smoother. My experience is the bike runs smooth enough on the stock map wwithout lean hesitation, running hot or snatchiness. Works for me and a couple of buddie's bikes I've set up exactly the same. You even mentioned your bike ran great before the Akra map. I'd consider going back to it simply for fuel range if nothing else. And, if you ride in the hills as I do, a slight lean condition at sea level fattens up nicely with a little elevation.
