#3Thanks for posting that up. I think history will tell that Yamaha made two brilliant decisions; in appointing Furusawa and going with his instinct to hire Rossi.
They then made two fooking astronomically stupid decisions firstly letting Furusawa retire and subsequently of letting Rossi go to Ducati.
If they think Lorenzo is a set up genius, they are wrong. Furusawa says as much in that interview. If they think the all conquering 2010 M1 can rest on its laurels for the next few years they are wrong too. If Yamaha doesnt win in 2011, and I expect both Honda and Ducati to have a say this year, then both Spies and Lorenzo will be like rats deserting the sinking ship. Why not? both are young potential champions and both are sensible enough to know that if Yamaha cant win in 2011 they have far less likelyhood of winning from 2012 on.
That is the legacy Furusawa and Rossi have left; a winning combination that is unlikely to be repeated in the near future.
Roll on 2013 when Yamaha cant draw flies to a dungheap and fields Karol Abraham as a factory rider cos daddy's money is keeping the M1 project afloat......
I am really happy to have lived through Rossi's career. I dont expect to see his like again. However, I would be equally pleased to see him contest WSB on a Ducati twin in 2012. fook Moto GP it has dug its own grave with every stupid decision since 2007, let it lie in it.
