More impressed every ride!

Everytime I take this bike out for a blast I come back more impressed than when I left. First bike I've ever experienced this with.

I've got over 12K miles and love riding this bike as much (or more) now than when I bought it almost three years ago. Track or street, no bike has been as rerwarding (and I've owned more than my fair share of bikes in my 46 years). This is a good thing as I plan on buying the new 1200 SD, but only after they have a year or so on them to work out most of the kinks.

I'll have no problem sticking with this bike for a couple more years! My buddy Dino has 53,000 miles on his 07 and like myself, rides the shite out of it so longevity shouldn't be an issue. Fingers crossed.

I'm right there with ya, Lowrance! This bike really does just keep getting better. I've put 6k miles on mine in the 8 months I've owned it, and that mileage would be much higher if it hadn't been freezing cold and/or raining...

Taken care of, these bikes should last a very, very long time. Long live the SD!

I think one reason I like it so much is the asthetics. This bike is proving to be a timeless design. I think the looks are getting better with age as well as the performance.

I think the only thing that'll date this bike will be the new 1200 SD.

I love the looks of my SDR. it's been perfect for 34k miles other than waterpump rebuilds. I plan to keep her for a long time. my RC8 is spending its fourth week at the dealer. after replacing the same gasket for the 2nd time it's still leaking.

Is a 1200 SD even coming state side?

That's the rumor. Definitely been designed. Will be built when economy warrants it. It'll come to the US hopefully sooner rather than later. Having said that, I can live with my SD for a few more years if I have to.

You know, all KTM really have to do is slot the 1190R motor into this chassis, update a couple of bits and you've gotta winna! Ultimate parts bin engineering for the ultimate bike..and make no mistake, the SD with 150 at the wheel with the torque of a v-twin for around $13K would be the ultimate bike. Shit, I wouldn't even wait a year, I'd buy it as soon as it hit the market..sight unseen!

Come on KTM..get off your asses and make it happen!
