OK so she passed, but it was only just!!!

My tester picked up on something ive never had aproblem with before but apparenlty if a bike is clearly designed to take a pillion then the bike should have pillion footrests in place!

Also my rear brake wouldnt pass untill wed had it on the rollers for about 5 mins and got some proper heat into the disc and pads! i only bled it about a month ago but i never ever use it!!!!

He let me off on both counts but i thought id bring it up for any1 else who is going for an MOT anytime soon!!!

Got the 990 MOT'd yesterday. The old one had expired in March and hadn't realised - this is a problem nowadays with everything on line, how are you suppose to remember?

Did the usual, it's become an annual ritual.

1. Fix the horn which doesn't work. This will last for the MOT and stop working tomorrow probably. It sounds like a strangled mouse anyway.
2. Take off small number plate and fit legal one the size of a barn door with a big ugly red reflector.
3. Check the wiring for the indicators and disconnect the part that makes the integrated tail light flash because that's illegal in the UK.
4. Listen to the Akra full system and decide whether to bother fitting the baffles (always decide not to because it's a pain to get those allen bolts up those little holes without dropping them down the silencer!)
5. Giver the bike a good clean so it's nice for the guy to work on.
6. Do a run through of all the MOT check list.
7. Ride down to bike shop. Get MOT.
8.Reconnect my flashing tail light wires. Job done.

Horn stops working on the way home!

My horn stopped working at the end of last season, I put the bike away knowing that I'd need to fix it.
Come Spring I took the bike out of storage and sure enough the horn was not working but was at least trying.
I took it off the bike and tried it on a battery as I thought the screw might just need adjusting, it worked fine (and made me jump as I wasn't expecting it to sound).
Fitted it back to bike and it then worked & is still working... I've no idea why it stopped working.

The Superduke horn is just shit!

Mine works when you remove it from the bracket and it just dangles from the wires. Then when you refit it it stops working. I managed to get it going this time by fiddling with the tuning screw but oit's stopped again. TBH I don't use a horn anyway. What's it for? Car drivers ignore you anyway and if you think a horn will deter a pedestrian from doing something silly or rely on it for keeping you safe in any way then you're an idiot.

I would only use the horn for pedestrians and on SD a quick rev does the same job anyway, and sounds way cooler.
