OK, this will be a real shocker, but Aaron Schott, aka "MotoHooligan" is receiving trust he does not deserve.

Earlier, I had posted a potential modification of the rear mounting fuel tank brackets to make fuel tank replacement after service potentially easier. WELL, Mr. CNC Reverse Engineering COPIED from my design, he is now wallowing in untold riches selling an $25 pair of brackets remabarkably[i] similar to my design.

Mr. Hooligan, on a previous thred ON THIS FORUM stated "I"ve got something just for you" (me) as a token "thank you" for my inspired design, which currently has the attention of one Mr. Pierre Terblanche. No Joke

I have yet to see this 'something' from Mr. MotoHooligan.

I would excercise utmost care at this obvious pattern of misleading statements and his respectability and worth of his word.

Just saying

Pierre Terblanche designed the ill recieved Ducati 999, the original Multistrada and the Supermono. he is designing for Norton after a short stint with Moto Guzzi
all Aaron's design was just elongating to mounting holes wasnt it? some of us had a disscussion about it some time ago, someone used his milling machine to do the job, i was going to do it to mine just using a file.
I am dieing to see how long this thread stays open. Thanx for the heads up and if You two work things out, which I am sure you will, please repost with the results. Sometymes what looks like a mistake from the inside reveals itself to be just miscomunication. I have much faith that this will be settled amicably.

so a famous designer is looking into using these mounts for a bike? Is that what i am getting from this?

and ok the norton and 999 look great but geez the multi is one of the ugliest bikes i can think of... the hyper isnt that pretty either although it does look tough and purposeful with somone on it.
Aaron popped out these tank brackets at the behest of my not insignificant whinging. I'd seen your mod and was about to do the same when I got the idea to have moto machine the same slots as your bracket and relocate the bushing hole closer to the front of the tank. He actually did us both one better and eccentrically located the bushing hole for a very well thought out design.

Thanks again Aaron!
Since I'm KTMGUY al the good ideas are stricktly mine! Just ask my boss and my missus!

So you better start putting $$$$ in my account! Hurry up as I got my eye on a 2011 RC8R!

Copy is the highest form of praise, just back it up with hard cash!

I think someone wants some new bling for spring.
Grendel too believes Double A Ron is not to be trusted. He makes all these products and pays forum members to post glowing stories about how fantastic he and his products are just to part the rest of the people from their hard earned cash. Bastard!
Hey Thinking about turning this one into a movie "The Superduke Network"

I have already lined up j timberlake to play the Terblanche character.
is the O.P serious?
Sounds like someone has their knickers in a knot!
I think it's a conspiracy by the Americans.......bloody arnold Schwartzenegger!
i've seen the thread which has the tank mounts fabricated up by zenbiker, that was a while ago though, and it's not good for someone to rip off anothers idea, if that is actually what happened. are we to assume there's been back and forth with broken promises and overly optimistic views of reimbursement? whatever has happened it's not cool to publicly sledge another without everyone having a full idea of the situation. if you were promised the world and given an atlas that's life, get past it you didn't reinvent the wheel, nor did you patent anything (i'm guessing)

paul
Well, I'm not one to pass judgment before having heard both sides of the story.

However, I think it's fair to point out that although it would be very bad form to take the design, if you posted it online for everyone to see, surely you'd expect people to try the design out for themselves? It wasn't, I'm guessing, patented nor protected in any way, shape or form and without having seen the actual thread, I doubt you made any disclaimers as to the use of your design?
Normally in this situation, the issue has arrisen due to mis communication. I think it is unfair to slag a potential victim if a gentlemans agreement has been breached. I'm sure Zen has tried all options before posting this. But unfortunately gentlemans agreements don't always work and are not legally binding as they are purely based on good faith.

BUT

I also believe that Aaron is a decent person, hence why there must be some sort of miscommunication. I hope for all parties involved, that it is a miscommunication.
I fear, perhaps, Aaron isn't going to get into a public slanging match, so we might have to put the popcorn away for now

geez, you guys are so freakin' serious.

Grendel thought it was funny. Especially coming from Zen. Obvious it was a joke if you follow the forum members here for any length of time.
Naaa, don't believe the joke. I was going to the States and had to get an Airbox shipped to New Jersey, I PMed the bloody Hooligan pointing out the need to expedite as I only had a few days there and the damned package was there before I even arrived, customer service my arse...
Slander is funny.

My only first hand experience with Aaron is he makes a few nice bits of "kit" for the Super Duke and other LC8s and when I ordered my parts he delivered them honestly and quickly. Before attempting any half-arsed attempts at humor at Motohooligan's expense one should remember that a man's most valuable possession is his reputation and it should not be trifled with lightly. Could this be libelous? Maybe . . .
Anyone not spotting this as a joke needs their melon checked....

Boy, I was really duped there. And when the cat was finally out of the bag, I felt oh so small for my posted remarks. I feel somehow the "joke" was on me. Zenbiker has got to be one of the funniest people that post on this forum, and yet, somehow I am having a hard tyme seeing the humour. Perhaps this was a inside joke on Pierre. I know that the Ducati has a failing tank proplem on the S4RS and could stand to use a new relocation hinge point, but Pierre is long gone from Ducati and it would seem real strange to have the previous designer go into cahoots with an aftermarket parts supplier. I am trying to piece together the motivation for such a terrible joke and it all seems to be coming back to " I want some recognition and bling, so I'll post a joke to test the waters"
The part that really pulled my gullible brain in was where it he said "no joke",dammit that gets me every tyme.

Seriously , what a bunch of fecking tightasses. I thought the RX8 owners group was dense
