Just read in MCN an article from someone who mentions that on his supersports bike - he had fitted Akro and power commander and had it tuned and dyno'd and as well as improved response and power was getting much better MPG
I had mine set up a couple of months ago at my local dealers ( Powerhouse - sadly no more !! ) -
I am very pleased with the improvements but have experienced a reduction in fuel economy - to the tune of about 20miles less per tankfull - is this the norm ? Also - there are three buttons on the power commander unit - ( its the first time I have seen one ) and when I asked the tech at powerhouse what they were for he replied that you can have each button tuned to different maps - but that defeated the object and I would be best to not touch - they had loaded a custom map
Again is this the norm ?
I also have a couple of questions about Bellypans - I am not keen on the exposed wiring entering the battery compartment in spiral wrap - and have seen the bellypans elsewhere on this site - I like the look of them and think they tidy up the undercarriage - and I understand that they can affect the ground clearence
I am unlikely to notice that as I dont usually go anywhere near that low - however are there any other disadvantages to fitting them ? are they easy to install ? do they restrict access to battery and if so are the simple to remove ?
Are they expensive and who supplies them ?
