My first race...

Oukei, I signed in to a drag racing in street bike class with my SD and had first race this weekend.

As it went over there:
Saturday I started qualifications with license pull. I was told to go "slowly" (and so I did ), but they forgot to say that both tyres need to be on ground! As you know already, it's quite challenging for me...
Anyhoo, didn't get penalty for that, instead got license right on. Apparently they thought I can ride that bike well enough...
First pull: R/T 0.641, 13.998/112.78km/h

Second was first full throttle. I was learning the whole thing and maybe was too carefull with all things there is. Made it as my best! R/T 0.339, 10.885/203.51
Before I got timeslip, thought it wasn't that good, didn't open throttle all the way and wheeling was very mild.

Third was then more like stunting than going fast... 300m wheeling
R/T 0.193, 11.007/201.11

For fourth pull I decided to get good reaction time (SB class qualifies with reaction times), and managed to have numbers like 0.004 Again 300m wheeling and worst time, 11.255/187.30

On fifth I tried to get clean, nice and fast pull, but guess what!
R/T 0.164, 11.133/198.05

Saturday was a damn windy day. Wind was blowing from side and behind.
SD was very difficult to ride smoothly, partly because of wind but mostly because of it's nature! It's made to ride on one wheel, not two... And costs time on strip.

Didn't do any setup changes there. Had suspension with basic setup, tyre pressures 2.5 bar on both and about 6 litres fuel in tank.

And the results from qualifing... I was first!

Sunday started with eliminations. First round was solo for first, that's me. Was good for me, got one extra "test" pull. R/T 0.089, 11.239/197.62
With 3rd gear went to limiter + normal symptoms (wheeling...) so I thought I could use 11.15 dial-in time.

Well, second round with opponent and everything was great, but... R/T 0.037, 10.996/196.98 So it went too fast and I lose.

Sunday was also damn windy day, and perhaps there was some back-wind during the pull and that's the reason for my loss...

All together, SD is one fooking great bike for strip too, but needs to set up suspension for that and rider needs to learn slippering clutch while acclerating with first and second gear.

Next race will be in four weeks, and hopefully I haven't tested those new crash sliders in action!
