A friend is staying with me for a couple weeks, so we packed up the bikes and headed into Northern California's Motherload region to do some riding, camping and swimming.
We basically stayed within Tahoe National Forest, between hwy 49 and hwy 20.

The highways and paved back roads in the region are amazing, and I was mostly having too much fun to take pictures, but I managed a few I thought you guys might find entertaining.

Getting the stuff tied on was a bitch, but once the load was secured it was great!
One of the great parts about this area is the old mining and logging roads that traverse the National Forest, it's a true off roader's paradise. To get to the best swimming holes, you have to take the roads less traveled.
The little FZ6 handled the dirt way better than the 'Duke, mostly due to the much softer suspension. The SDR did an admirable job though, considering. She is derived from an Adventure, after all
We spent two days riding around the back county and jumping into stuff like this

All in all, the trip was about 750 miles, and the SDR was amazing. I was all over the place, elevation wise, and she purred like a kitten the whole time. I was happy because I haven't had a chance to get her up into thin air since I pulled the oxygen sensors.
