Oh the memories Samba give these boys a shout, tell em you got the number off the sd forum and they should do you a deal
http://www.triple-s.co.uk/index.htm
I'd powder coat the swing arm cus anodising can have a tint of blue to it whereas powder coat more durable and cheaper(unless u know someone who does it cheaper), can't wait to see the before and after photo's
And quotin Superdan................."good luck with the bushes"
Gonna look dude

thanks preey
local garage couldn't get rubbers out..... had a go myself with a dremel ( ) then dropped it off at another local guy this morning....made him promise he'd get 'em out whatever it took!
yep, not really any surprises there eh!
Did you ring AMS?

ok, I have a few questions along with an update.....

The rear wheel is still at the garage having the rubbers out - not heard from him yet so dunno how it's going....

I cleaned and inspected all the parts that came out of the swingarm and wheels - to check if I needed to buy anything new...

Now. Question 1 - I cleaned all the grease off...dried, then sprayed on some spray grease to keep 'em safe for a week or two while they're out. Is that gonna be ok?!

Question 2 - what kind of grease do I need to use to reassemble the wheel and swingarm ready for fitting...and can I buy it in Halfords?

Question 3 - they broke one of these during disassembly....is it a required SD specific part or will any old valve fitted when new tyres go on be ok?

Image

Question 4 (jeeez....) - the chain has obviously been slack at some point and eaten away a little at the siwingarm...through the swingarm protector too I should add... is this ok? doesn't look structurally damaging to me....?

Image

Question 5 - this part has a few little scuffs inside, I guess from disassembly.... do I need a new one?!

Image

Sam, i have a spare valve if you want it but personally i'd put new ones on. They are Brembo valves so rather than buy some of fleabay and them not fitting i bought o/e ones, also used standard grease to reassemble the bike. The scuff on the swing arm should be ok with a new chain gaurd fitted, wouldn't see much off it then

the massive box I was on about...

Been meaning to send my footrest brackets off for powdercoating, out of interest, how difficult was it to get the rubber thing off the gear lever?

it's getting there....but not without any bloody problems....

havin a hard time getting the shock back into its slot in the swingarm. There's no residude from powdercoating in there but it just won't go in anyway?!

Dan - the lock is dead simple to remove from the twin seat and whack into the R seat. It was something I was a bit confused about beforehand too - I was worried at one point that I might have to carry 2 keys around!

Tj if you find some reasonable orange side panels see if they'll do a discount for two sets I want to put a black saddle on mine with the orange side panels

still a few bits and bobs to sort out, but nowt visible, so here's the final product, albeit a photo taken by an iphone in a garage.... I'll get some decent pictures but it'll have to wait

anyway - spent 8 hours in my garage today! no major problems though most of what I spent all that bloody time doing clearly wasn't a quick'n'easy!

so, without further ado............

Damn that number plate hanger is huge

Not looking forward to that part of the R conversion, I might chop it in half and have done with it
