So maybe it does not belong in the hooligan section but if true im sure you could have hooligan time withnit, so according to the mcn bmw is well underway with the testing of a naked 1000r derived from the fast one they make, im still with my rc8 after swapping the sd and was waiting for the new one to arrive whenever that shall be.
That's cool news. Should be something impressive to add to their lineup if it's anything like its fully clothed sibling. Maybe it will be a super model in a thong underneath.
I hope they'll make it look better than this: Image
I actually don't mind that all that much except the front end mask.
Looks good apart from the carbon
No mirrors, no indicators so not quite what it should look like. Wunderlich creation is it?

Keep the mask, it looks like a Transformer.
hi all
emm that should be good for a blast .
first dibs ,i have it.
I agree, keep the front end. It looks mean. Though it has a few too many cloths on. It could loose a little plastic.
where is this picture from ?

After looking at those pics, I retract my previous statement. She has takes enough cloths
i like the idea ,

toyed a long time about putting a set of straight bars on a zx10 after riding it a few times, i have ridden a s1000 and really like the idea of all that hp
Sounds very promising. The BMW has that aura of quality about it.
But then the engine is a high reving inline four. That means far less torque down low that a V-twin or an inline 3.
I mean I drove the V4 tuono and found it lacking below 7000rpm, which is the rev range where most of my street riding happens. Above that it explodes with power. A track tool only. Not a meaty street bike and track bike combination like the SD.
The BMW could be the same, or the Bavarian boys could make their magic on the engine and make it a powerhouse through the rev range...
Come on 2013...
looks like shit and even more like the Suzuki it was originally copied from than the faired version.........

Anyway it will be so gutless at the bottom end an old carbed R1 or an SD will murder it,

Oh and all that fooking TC, ABS etc, etc bollocks.......... wonderful
i dont recall the BMW being gutless from down low!

I love internet statistics. The bike second lightest bike on the list (next to 2005 SD) with the highest HP, fastest 0-60 time, fastest 1/4 mile time, fastest terminal velocity, is somehow going to get "murdered" by the old slugs. Ok, keep dreaming.

The Tuono approach: wide bars, modded front fairing but still a bit larger then a true naked.
Relatively cheap way to build a 'new' bike using an already proved package. I bet they spend good money on the S1000RR development so I can't blaim them.
seems a little pointless , where the fook do you hide at crazy speeds with no fairing?
A small screen can be very effective for that. If the bike is geared up to 260-270km/h this will be do-able on the straights for these few seconds.

Evoluzione Cyclesports have done a nice job converting a standard RR. Would need something more exciting like a cross plane crank to get me excited though.

I agree that a cross-plane crank would make the bike sound a whole hell of a lot better but I'd wager one quick blast on that thing might change your mind. I'd be interested!
I4 naked bikes are Foogly. Engine is way too big...
