Yep, you've probably dislodged a power and/or earth connector/wire to the clocks - have a look at the soft 32 dat 101 sticky.

I looked again and see nothing loose. All I did was disconnect the 2 plugs from under headlight and now no gauges. Fuse 3 is fine. All connectors seem tight. Bike starts and runs well. Hmmmmm????????

Did you check the connector to the clock itself and the wiring into the connector pins, not just the connectors, particularly those on the left (as you sit on the bike)?

Reconnect the GPS and see if the clock works?

Here is what I have found so far. If I fiddle with the connector on the bottom on the left (when sitting on the bike) I can sometimes get the gauges to work and then it will eventually fade out. Sometimes I get a Dat 10.1 on the dash. Sometimes the neutral light or F1 light or oil light will stay on but the digital info is missing. I have managed to keep it on for a minute or two but then goes away.

Can't see how the wires connect to the gauge assembly. feels like it's hard wired.

I'm out of patience tonight and out of time. My fingers are raw. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Could this be due to an old battery? It starts easily but I know the clock has changed time and gives me the impression it might be on it's way out.

PLEASE HELP

From this post viewtopic.php?f=5&t=10424&hilit=soft+32+dat+101&start=25

Solved and it's another one to add to the checklist - broken red/white wire at 12 pole connector to bottom lhs (sitting on the bike) behind headlamp - from the wiring diagram, this appears to be the power source (excluding backlight) for the speedo unit - manual is wrong/inconsistent re description for this connector and the one above as the bottom one is definitely for the front wiring loom including the speedo unit.

How was the GPS connected? Was it plugged in to the ACC connectors or did some smarty pants used these clip on connectors on the wires to the dash?
If the last you probably have a broken wire....

I have continuous power to the red/white wire (not broken). The GPS was plugged in via the female accessory clips under the mask. ??? I'm feeling more like this was coincidental. How hard is it to take the gauge cluster off? I see the rubber boot under there but don't feel any clip to release the wires so they must be hard wired in.

I replaced the battery and it appears to work properly now. For those that may encounter this problem in the future. If your clock resets to 1200 when you start your bike, it may be a sign. I guess only time will tell.

Out of the blue, my instrument cluster lights up orange but there is no data on it. It is completely blank. The bike seems to run ok. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

See my post above - happy to elaborate if necessary - but you may have a failed unit......

Hi everyone,
Sorry to dig up an old thread but I have the same issue. There's clearly moisture in my display so I am assuming this is most likely to be the problem. My backlight is working in my display but that's all that works. No tach sweep, no lights besides backlight, etc. I did check the red/white wire on the 12 pole connector and it SEEMS to be okay. I did not pull off the sleeve to check it all the way up though.

Is this something that KTM will help replace because the product is not properly designed?

If not, are there any good aftermarket gauges that are compatible with this bike?

That's the main fuse box under the seat.
For my '08 model, it seems the red/white wire is an ECU power supply to the instrument cluster for data, and there's a separate wire to power the background illumination.
