Hey guys, could you share your thoughts on this. I have akro evos on my 08 sd. I'm a fan of louder bikes . I have a guy for
This forum that's willing to trade me his Fmf apex straight across for my evos. I have heard they are significantly louder than my akros . I guess what I'm asking is performance wise , in your experiences and knowledge how do they stack up? Both systems are in excellent shape . Is this a wise trade , and would I be losing or gaining out of this deal and why. Thanks a lot guys
Adam
Go for it. If it makes both parties happy and no gun is held to either's head, Who is anyone to complain.
There is no sucker in this situation, only thing I can see is someone gets more vowels and the other more noise.
Lmao!! That's pretty funny !! So they are pretty damn close performance wise ?
I've never heard Akra's in person but my FMF's are pretty loud, sound awesome, and IMO they are the best looking cans you can buy for an SD. The only exhaust I'd even think about swapping my FMF for is a full titanium exhaust since you get extra power from the headers. But since the cost/benefit ratio sucks, I wouldn't swap anything for my FMF cans. Go for it.
This is my view. I have a full titanium Akra system which I believe is probably the best exhaust for overall gains on the SD. But when FMF released their carbon pipes I was a bit envious because they definitely look better. So it depends on whether you want ultimate performance or looks but really the difference in HP is probably negligible and the difference in look is personal and purely subjective.

The other factor is track days. Here in the UK many tracks have a 103decibel, (or even less) limit and they noise test so you won't get on if you exceed this. My system just makes this limit but if I put in the baffles then it drops to about 95 or something and I can get on any tracks I want. From what I understand the FMFs will no way pass this test so for that reason alone I wouldn't have them.
I like the look of the FMF's and even considered buying them, but looking at the bike from the rear I think the REMUS exhaust looks even better. In my opinion.
I'd imagine they are the same performance wise. The fmf without the 'db killer' in it is crazy loud. (I think my neighbors hate me)
the way I see it end cans are just that. you are not going to beat a full system. so swap if they will make you smile more
