New chain and 16T sprock

Got my chain and sprox done over the weekend and went for the 16t front sprock.
The difference the new chain has made is massive. I think I left my old one on there far too long. Trouble is as something goes off over a long period of time you don't notice it degrading. Anyway the bike rides brilliantly again with no rattly ships anchor chain accompaniment.
I've gotta say I'm hard pushed to notice any difference between the 16 and 17t sproxs though. I think I'm generally pretty insensitive to subtle changes cos I can't tell the difference between tyres either, but if I didn't know I now had a 16t sprocket on, I wouldn't have been aware anything had changed....

same here fella , i did a 40T back as well as the 16 on the front and it was nutz , didnt really suit my ride to work , so i went back to normal rear and i can't tell the difference either

What year bikes do you guys own? Not all of the US spec machines use the same sprockets so you may think you had a 17 when it may have already been a 16...

I say this because some documentation provided by KTM themselves states the wrong sized sprockets... And I know that with ANY motorcycle I have ever owned, a 1 tooth smaller front sprocket is always quite noticeable...

Just for the record, I have a 2007 and it came with a 16... And I will be going up 2 teeth on the rear when it comes time to swap the chain and sprox..

This is well documented as a type-o and KTM has not taken the time to make the correction to thier literature as yet, lets see

KTM posted the misprint 4 years ago and still running, you have to believe that KTM has had the knowledge of the error at least as long as the public has known it and still no correction.

erm.... I counted the teeth on my 06 and it had 17 , so i went smaller which in no way shape or form improved my fuel ecenomy , as the gears are slightly , albeit marginally in my head , 6k in top used to be about 85 and it is now about 78-80 so with my crude measurements i reckon i lost 5-7 mph at the same revs.

The reason i replied to the post is my other experience of sprocket changes involve my old 98 R1, when i changed the gearing on that there was a massive difference.......or so i thought at the time , and i didnt get the same sensation with my SD .
i dont like thrashing it all the time , it dont feel right
