I was just about to start this topic!
Had the Duke serviced there today and I must say it was a very enjoyable experience! You can see it's the same guys that run Action KTM: Very friendly staff, great mechanic (who actually listens to you) and great loan of a 990 SM for the day! Recommended!

It's still expensive though, not sure what the norm is but a minor service (22,500km) with clutch bleed came to a little over $400.. But now she's in damn fine shape!
I think I paid close to $600 for my last major service and usually pay around $300-$400 for minor ones.
The price we pay for having a KTM or Ducati I suspect.

Does anyone know how much the Brisbane (including GC) dealers charge for applying the Akra map to your ECU?

Around $30 I think is reasonable for 5-10 minutes work on a PC connected to your bike.
Anything above that is just plain greed in my eyes - I'm a software engineer I know how to update an onboard piece of EEPROM and how long it takes.
Really it is not time so much as the initial investment that is charged for. Like for me... I can change a fuse in less than 5 min's but what do i charge for the 30 years it took me to get here?...

more of a service than by the clock, also customer loyalty plays a role too. loyal customers receive a reduced rate at my shop opposed to a first timer.

I get all my parts from Boltons Motorcycles (via online ordering, they are in Kyneton near Melbourne), amazing how fast they can get parts for you - uncanny in fact!

Type in the part number and about a minute after you press submit the bloody mailmans at the door!

Huge inventory too.

No affiliation, just a happy shopper.

Cheers
Gary
