New discs and swingarm

Here's my latest upgrades. Those fantastic American cast iron discs and carriers. Worth the wait and effort and price. Combined with those Brembo monoblocks they are the best brakes I ever rode with, bar non. And that's not even waiting for them to bed in properly. Check out the photos, first one is them just fitted with about 200 metres of braking done. Still black and coated. The other is after 25 miles of fast A roads getting them hot at 100mph and then a bit of B road fun. Still got a slight bit of the black coating but the feedback and bite is awesome. Total one finger stuff for most riding. Can't wait to try them on track. Not sure if any events left this year, maybe have to wait till spring but this bike is ridden all year round so we'll see how they fair in British salt - not started yet but imminent.

Also fitted is the '08 black swing arm and back brake caliper that I've had sitting about for months. Got them from eBay and not had time to fit them till now. Purely cosmetic I` thought 'till I tried the brake and realised that it was about ten times better than the brake I've been using for four years???? Not sure why, same disc but different brake and pads. Anyway I locked up the back wheel a few times with the usual heavy footed effort I've been used to using in those situations where you actually use the back brake. I'll have to re- calibrate my brain now.

Swingarm has not made any difference at all to riding experience. But Black is way time better than silver so I'm well chuffed.

Yes, got garage now, but it's so full of packing boxes that I still can't work in it! But my insurance has now gone down to £200 full comp because I'm no longer in London. Small stones on driveway outside garage is a bitch but the bike is reminded of all the encounters with gravel traps over the years so feels at home immediately.

Need a chance to get out and look at what make the pads are mate. I'll let you know.

Do you have the standard discs for sale as I still need a set for my spare wheels

Jody, the reason I got these new discs in the first place was to free up the old ones for a set of spare wheels that I found without discs. Having a set of spare wheels is great but not when you have to change over the discs every time. Pads in front are the ones that come as standard with the Brembo Monobloc calipers. They are different from the standard OE brake pads, pretty sure they are Brembo but not sure - will have to go out and check.

You guys don't understand how time short I am with the twins and a two year old and also because it's Christmas I have my nine year old daughter just arrived from LA for the holidays and my 18 year old son is staying over for the new Year. 5 kids, Christmas time, running a company, meetings with clients, board meetings, deadlines, new three hour commute every day, present buying just getting going, only three days left.

Man, I am stressed!!!!! Brake pad info is bottom of my agenda!!!

Gotta agree with John tho, get that rear subframe and the engine hangers powder coated satin black buddy. So close to perfection!

Nothing to say about the brakes but i really like that bike. Not usually keen on the carbon look but that looks well smart.

This bike been crashed quite a lot! If you get up close most of the surfaces are covered in gravel rash. I like this though - the bike is used but not abused.
