New Gear

I just switched over to new gear this weekend. I was wearing a 38 on my rear and switched to 40. It made a marked differance. Where I was exceeding the speed limit at full loft, I am now able to lift the front to balance at at least ten miles an hour slower. I had a certain amount of trepidation when I first installed the extra teeth, but much fear was put to rest when I realised just how much smoother the loft had become. I do not clutch up as many do. I have found that the power is plenty and I myself think that plates wear faster if the are spinning at a differant RPM than the engine. There is much talk abount the advantages to clutch up and I am not one who cares to go that way. Sooooo, let the games begin.

Makes putting around in stop and go easier too. A tad short for highway droning though.

No problem here lofting the front in first or second with stock gearing on a standard SD...with all the fruit of course

Am definitely not of the "dip the clutch to get it up crowd". Bit like taking Viagra if you ask me.

Seriously though, the only clutch I abuse is the one on my YZ450F when I'm trying to pull my fat arse out of a slowish corner.

It was not so much a problem with stock gear loft it was mor of a speed was great at second gear up and first gear up was too slow. I like to live it up in front of say anyone within eye and earshot of this wild animal and when lofting by the local watering hole for the Air cooled belt driven crowds, the ladies and children were at extreeme risk across the street at the post office. I have been prone to some pretty drastic evasive measures when granny tells grampa to turn right and he suddenly makes the stopping distances null and void. I like the thirty five mph wheelie. Not too fast and not too slow.
