As I seem to be the only active moderator now Weeksy's time is taken up, I think it's best to spread the load a bit wider and let more people get involved.
I too am finding it harder to get time to moderate due to family commitments and increased travel with my job so I'm probably going to retire from mod duties fairly soon anyway.
I will always be here to help if needed but to make sure the site is looked after as well as it can be I am pleased to announce a new band of moderators who I think will do a great job of moderating this site and, more importantly, helping out new and existing members.

#57I think that Bassagent is the perfect idea. Sort of giving back to the community. Allong with his duties he could maybe edit my posts. It occured to me that Maddog has quite a few extra commas in his past posts. Is there a way to mine them and place them in a sort of bank account and Bass could dole them out as needed. Instead of buying a vowel like that TV game show you could borrow a semi-colon. I think there was supposed to be a comma between show and you. Don't get me started on the Oxford comma, we'd use them up way too fast.

We sacked the management company, (because they were ripping us off and not using the service charge cash they received in a good way), and took on the job ourselves. It was necessary to have a sort of management committee to run things and a few people stepped up to the job in roles that suited them and a few others just because they were keen to help build a great team to do things better.
For about 5 glorious years everything was pretty good, the feeling of what we'd done and achieved kept us going and things all around improved, we had more cash to spend on the building, all the occupants felt that they were getting value for money and any disputes were handled in a fair and democratic way. There's always some things that cause friction and there were some politics with personalities and egos but generally things were fine.
As the years went by some of the key people sold and moved on and others were brought in to replace them. The dynamics changed at times, sometimes for the worse, but there was always enough of the old team and memories of what it was all done for and it all hung together. It was really up to the new recruits to learn the way of the management committee and to be inspired to continue in the same spirit.
And also of course, more importantly, for all the rest of the occupants to help support the team in their efforts to run the show. Because after all these were the people who were spending their own time and effort in making it happen for the whole and the people who were not doing anything personally - except paying their service charge - should have been always appreciative of the effort it took. But this was not always so and being part of the management team was often a thankless task.
One of my friends who was on the original management team with me came to stay the other night. We pondered on the past and talked about what we had heard of the building and what was happening there. One of the key things is that the management committee had broken down in a vitriolic war of power, greed, selfish thinking and actions. It had got so bad that the whole building had more or less decided to revert to hiring an expensive management company to do the job because no one trusted or supported the way it was now being done. Despite being a bad option they thought it better than a warring, bickering self-govenment.
Lets hope we never see the same thing happen here. Superduke.net is probably one of the best run, best designed, best supported forums I've ever subscribed to on the internet. The moderators are all volunteers and deserve respect and all our support in doing what they do. I think one should only bitch and moan if they are willing to step up and offer to do the job better themselves.

Truth is I feel guilty about not being able to give the site the time at the moment, also with not actually owning a (whole) KTM anymore it doesn't seem right. Some tough things going on at the moment as some of you know as well...
Tis true I did Kill that RC8 and now I'm glad I did, it was bloody cursed. Never had such bad luck with a bike in all my riding life. Glad the fooking thing is dead and in pieces, I'm even struggling with my conscience about selling off the bits in case some other poor bastard ends up with the bad luck that POS gave me.
So I plead guilty, send me down to boring Jap bike purgatory. Got a lovely CBR929 Blade with my name on it, even I couldn't blow that up. Fast enough and cheap enough not to care so much if and when I send it down the road/track. With a little luck if I keep selling off the bits as well as I am I'll be at Portimao too
If Craig, Bert etc are happy for me to drop in when I can and have a check around then I'll carry on. Maybe I could moderate the moderators?

#138Look I'll put my hand up. I took it upon myself and posted up in this thread that we were looking for anyone to step up. We were down to Bert, Crotchrockety and myself with BLB dropping out. BassAgent stepped up to take some of the load. I took the decision to make him a mod. Some others have also stepped up as well and could well become mods. I posted the names in the mods forum for the other guys to look at. Tbh I should have posted something in the mods forum first but hey we live and learn. This seems to have caused a big stir. Look if it doesn't work out it doesn't work out but he deserves a break guys.

Craig I can get in to the admin panel but don't know how/don't have permissions to change me back. I have three conditions though.
1. I don't have a stupid green or pink name
2. Gin comes on board as a mod
3. Do the popular thing (read between the lines here...)

Then I checked my phone getting spammed with the emails (my email on here was my main email) and i needed to change it so my phone wouldn't keep getting notifications. I literally did this not more than 10 minutes after changing the name to pink and photoshopping my avatar real quick. Also, I didn't know any of the admin's on here emails, so I figured since I knew you I could just hit up Mike and Lance to message you to let you know that my new email needed to be activated. I didn't think it'd be such a huge deal. It's really as simple as that
