#2Almost done 1000 miles and i'm still learning how to ride a v twin, seem to have sussed the engine braking, but in very slow corners the throtle still feels like an on / off switch when going from fully closed to open

#3Trying to get used to slides when exiting corners. Not sure if I should go easy on the throttle, use clutch, or both, as this is still scaring me.

#4Ive gone from inline 4s to twin to 4s and now back again,to the twin, i rode a honda sp1 for four years and was still learning, i switched to a k6 750, the thing with the twin is remembering to change gear soon enough and keep it in the torque, its taken me a thousand miles to get back into it and to start with i thought i had made a mistake, im looking forward to getting to brands soon if anyone has any tyre suggestions fire away.

#54 months on the SD from an il4 - Longest to get used to was the speed at which the bike turns in, and how loose you have to be on the bars.
The engine braking didn't take long to get used to, not as long as remembering I can't potter around under 4000rpm like I could on the 4's.
Getting back on an il4 is now one of the blander experiences I can have...

ya got to ave somewhares to put me 25 pound d*^k with me 35 lbs of n^ts, so the a^se is only a compliment for the large package,
i have many friends that are way bigger than one small.... me leathers are a 48 us size so it could be worse, hard to find roo leathers in that size too.

#9Slightly over 1000 miles and I just got it mapped (akras)
What a difference with the map, Slow corners are much smoother
now. As far as wheelies go, I have to say the balance point on the SD
is awesome. I can hold second gear for as long as I want...
I do find stand ups to be a little easier without a rear seat cowl.(next purchase)
I'm coming straight from I4's but I do find the power delivery close
to my 450r honda. Ofcourse stronger, but alot of bottom end grunt.
Which has made my corner exits a little slower...dreaded high side
All in all though, this is the funnest bike I have ever ridden

#12Me and mine had a longer honeymoon than most of my new machines, mostly because of the tranny and shifting technique, it's more demanding than most bikes to get it perfect, now that I have 3600 miles on the clock it's smooth as silk and I know her nuances like the back of my hand.
I've never thought about the fueling, I never let the tach drop below 6k if I can help it.

Seriously, perfection is unattainable, but the SD has come closest for me, it really just needs another 15-20hp...
But with the butthole that is the Venom's looks (admit it, looks do count for a bit) I won't be getting that...

and now i am really getting the hang of it.
Only i have tho be careful for police cose i just have tho ride it fast

#18Well done on the exhaust, BigBlok1. I think the RC8 exhaust looks great on the SD, although I don't think it's really practical (or even possible), but nice job.
