NYC International Motorcycle show....NO KTM...WTF!!!!

Hey guys, went to the NYC Int. Motorcycle show yesterday. All in all a good experience, lots to see....but NO KTM stand!!! I was very disappointed as I though they would surely be represented at an event of this size. All the Jap manufacturers were there....even Ducati had a nice stand.....so where was my favorite manufacturer???....no where to be found.

I can understand the smaller guys like maybe Gas Gas or TM not being there...but for KTM who are huge in dirt & street in the US not to be there......what gives?
Any one else perhaps go to the show & find it strange that our brand was not there?

they weren't at the Long Beach show either. Is it possible they don't have any new models coming out in the U.S.?

Went to the show. More surprising to me than KTM not being there is that Aprilia, which has a lot of new models, wasn't there either. Triumph was there, however, after being absent the last few years. (Triumph dealers shoed the flag for them, but really not the same.) Didn't see anything that made me want to swap my SD for.

The bike market is so weak now I'm surprised that a show can even get off the ground,,, not to mention the cost for a spot to set up must be phenominal ,,2010 was one of, if not the worst years, for motorcycle sales in the US ever, prices are just part of the problem,, there's no such thing as a small beginner bike anymore, thus no beginners,,,so no big bike sales for big bucks,to those "beginners" who would have stepped up, but they have no "beginner" bike to step up from,,, so they don't ride,,,,times are a changing,, pretty soon all or most of what's on the showroom floor will be gas sipping scooters that people can afford (those beginners) and really , how many will take a step up after the new ride wears off the used bike market will be the up and comming thing really for people who just can't afford a 20 grand bike so they will buy "used",, smaller bikes as well ,the manufactures best get on the ball , and soon,,

ditto, no official KTM display at the San Mateo show a few months back. One vendor just had a RC8 on display for components etc

"The girls working the Triumph display at the Long Beach show, were, shall we say, aggressive. Flirty, scantily clad, grab you by the arm and lead you around by the arm kind of aggressive. Kinda interesting. What were they like in NY?"

Didn't notice the Triumph girls being aggressive, but some of the others were just a bit. Not to the extent you experienced though.
