Listen folks... just like to ask a big favor, please advise me on this 06 wr450 honda,

this dood wants to trade me for my 08 kaw versys, I want 3000 usd for my bike and I think he may want 2K for his bike,

I have the rare opportunity of riding on the dirt with the likes of my buds...

B. Cox and Danny Eslick so I really want to go play with the Pro's.... do you think this tool will suffice... please and thanks.

how many hours does that thing have? Perhaps you
could swap +500 bucks for you. Although I know

2 K would be a deal on an 06 tho. I have a 05 that seems to be bullet proof,hope this helps.

he shows it with motard stuff on it too... I will go get the pic.

the real deal is being able to go out and try to learn from some expert dirt riders,

joe has been known to do some extraordinary things on the dirt in the early years.. I really need a good machine though...

That WR looks like it's had a hard life.

They are great trail bikes, If you get a good one you should be pretty happy with it. As with all 4T trail bikes, check it's been serviced regularly and that the valves are good.

How long was it run as a Motard? Supermoto can be hard on gearboxes without a cush drive rear wheel.

The WR450 (and the latter updated models) has constantly been amongst the biggest selling bikes in Australia since it was released.

$2000 for an 06 WR450 is a real good price, even if it has seen a lot of time (so long as its been well maintained). Hopefully he can give you some trustworth maintenance history on it. I think with the WR's if you keep up with the maintenance they are bullet proof. 1000's of miles and hundreds of hours (300 to 500 longer?) without needing a top end rebuild or even needing valves adjusted. But, that depends on how hard it was ridden. Seems owners recommend oil changes around 300 miles and check the valves every 3000 miles even though many don't need adjusting at that time. If it isn't burning oil and starts on the first or second kick power is strong has smooth torque then the engine is probably okay. If he can't say when or hasn't checked the valves in awhile you might want to do that just to be safe.

Joe, is this for trail riding or MX? If it's trails and the bike checks out fine, alls good. MX, look for something else. Dirt riding is fun as fook. Hope it works out.

go for it Joe, as long as it was properly maintained and checked for valve clearances, frequent oil changes (it takes up to 1lt) etc etc it's a very durable bike
