#3But seriously though, there's no oil pipes or anything that should inadvertently put oil down there. Except front cylinder head gasket problems?

#9On many occasions I've thought about the wisdom of having the mesh at the front of the belly spoiler. Surely this just funnels water, oil and grime onto the cables and battery box Etc. I can't see that this area really needs air flow so perhaps a belly pan without the mesh is the way to go. Having the battery in that location means (of course) that it is really hard to give the engine a good wash without fear of creating an electrical fault. IMO an ideal design would have been to have the battery where it is for mass centralization but to have the cable connectors remote like under the seat. I guess it's all compromise...

#11Over the winter, I put dielectric grease on every connector on the bike. I never ride the SD if it looks like rain. I have Hondas for that. Sooner or later, I'll get a good soaking.
I just keep telling myself that KTM is a dirtbike company, they know more about this than I do. And ther are guys in the UK that ride all winter thru all sorts of salt and sand, and they don't complain much about electrical problems.
Hey KTM! Keep the exhaust low and the battery high!
