ouch............high side on turn 3 at Eastern Creek

Well it was bound to happen given the eagerness with which i was cracking the throttle.

A drying line around the circuit was giving me plenty of confidence.......turned the sdr hard left out of the double apex turn 2 so i could get a clean line through turn 3. Cranked well over with the throttle pinned and all i can remember is hearing thr engine note rise rapidly and a brief sensation of being twisted up as the back-end tried to overtake my front end....................then i woke up in ER.

Apparently i was punted over the bars, landed on my head (hence the lack of memory), and then my right shoulder and hand hit the tarmac.

5 days in hospital wth severe concussion, broken right hand in several places. Thankfully medicare will take care of my injuries, and a massive big-up to Dainese and Shoei for making such fantastic gear. Considering the impact my leathers saved my bark although the titanium plates on my Gran Premios are destroyed.

The sdr came off fairly lightly and i could really do with some help in sourcing standard replacement parts so i can get back on the horse (once my hand is fixed).

Has anybody got the following 08 sdr OEM bits available?
- handlebars
- clutch lever
- left bar end
- gear lever pedal
- left tank shroud

I want to keep it standard for now as it keeps costs down and i have to replace my shoei x11.

Any help would be appreciated.

Sorry to hear about your off but glad you are still with us and in relatively good spirits.

Bet you were having a great time till you crashed hey?!

If you need to order any parts you can always try these guys

I just got some parts from them to fix mine after an off.
Sorry to hear about your crash, mate. I know how bad it hurts to high side. I crashed my -07 SD on a high side almost two years ago. The bike was written off and my ankle is still bad.

I hope you'll get better soon.
