Over Pricing in Australia!!! PVM

I'm looking at doing something to the track bike and wheels seem to be the best bang for buck after all the other work I've done.
I've finally decided on PVM's as I really like the fact that they are designed, forged and machined in Germany.

They are $2000EUR less 10% $1800EUR = $2140AUD

Very reasonable.

When I placed my order I was directed to an Australian distributer (Sportsbike.com.au) and he told me that they were indeed great and I should secure a pair.
I ask Price and he calmly states $3550AUD... Oh sorry... PLUS GST $3910... Where do you live?.. Perth? Oh that'll mean freight $3960AUD

That guy is someone I don't appreciate just now...

Can't see what the issue is....
Find a supplier in the states or so and ask them to put less than $1000 on the invoice. Only a google session and a few e-mails to send.
We all know they overcharge here so no need to get your knickers in a twist.... take action by not buying from them.

Bike shops here in Oz always bitch about how online shopping is affecting them and that we should be more patriotic and support Australian businesses.
Now I am all for this but when you see the likes of this type of price gouging happening it is no wonder that we get what we can online.
When you can buy a pair of Michelins for $200 less delivered inside a week from the US, something is obviously amiss.
Feck em all, thieving bastards.

I've tried and am still trying to bring the MotoMFG stand into Australia in bulk, but it is an absolute minefield.
I feel for retailers, but it is time they told the wholesaler to rack off.
I still want to buy and go to a shop, I've never wanted to buy from a wholesaler, they are an out dated, uneeded link in modern supply chains.
